Residential Terms of Service

Important: These Terms of Service apply to residential (consumer) customers only. For services provided to businesses or commercial premises, separate terms will apply and will be provided as part of the quotation process.

Terms of Service for Residential Cleaning Services

​

Welcome to Talk Clean To Me. We’re here to provide a reliable, friendly, and high-quality cleaning service you can feel comfortable with. These Terms of Service simply explain how we work and what you can expect from us.

 

By confirming a booking with us, you are agreeing to these Terms of Service.

 

1.About Us
Talk Clean To Me is a trading name of Harrogates FM Ltd (our legal entity with Companies House), which provides residential cleaning services.

2.Our Service
We will carry out the cleaning services as agreed during the quotation and booking process. Each visit is planned based on the areas and tasks discussed, so we can deliver the best possible results within the time allowed. Cleaning results may vary depending on the condition of the property and the time available.

3.Additional Requests
If you would like to add extra tasks or areas, please let us know at least 24 hours before your scheduled visit where possible. This allows us to plan enough time and ensure our team can maintain the quality of service you expect.  Where additional time is not available, we may suggest swapping tasks instead.

4.Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or rearrange a visit, please let us know as soon as possible. We will always do our best to offer an alternative time that suits you.

Where less than 24 hours’ notice is given, we reserve the right to charge up to the full cost of the scheduled visit, as time and staff have been allocated.

5.Our services are charged at the rates set out in your quotation.
Any agreed changes to your cleaning plan or additional services will be reflected in your invoice. Invoices are issued at the end of each calendar month by Harrogates FM Ltd and are due within 7 days. We reserve the right to pause or withdraw services where payment remains outstanding.

6.Access to your property
You must ensure that we can access the property at the agreed time. If we are unable to gain access, we reserve the right to charge for the full visit, as staff will have attended and time has been reserved.

7.Your Responsibilities
To enable us to provide our services safely and effectively, you agree to:
  - Inform us in advance of any known risks, hazards, or issues within the property
  - Secure or remove any valuable, fragile, or irreplaceable items
  - Provide clear instructions in advance where specific requirements apply

We are not responsible for damage to items that are not secured, are fragile by nature, or have pre-existing faults.

8. Health and Safety
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and take practical steps to work safely within your property.

Cleaning activities may involve temporary and unavoidable hazards, including wet or damp floors, cleaning products in use, and equipment or cables in place. While we will take reasonable steps to manage these risks and provide warnings where appropriate, such conditions are a normal part of the cleaning process.

As the occupier of the property, you are responsible for the overall environment within your home. This includes managing access to the property and being aware of who may enter during or shortly after our visit.

You agree to take reasonable steps to ensure that any occupants or visitors are made aware that cleaning is taking place, and that temporary hazards such as wet floors may be present.

We will not be responsible for incidents where reasonable care has been taken by us, and the risks associated with cleaning activities are open and obvious or could reasonably have been avoided by taking appropriate care.

9.Cleaning Products, Allergies and Sensitivities
You must inform us in writing, in advance, of any allergies, sensitivities, or restrictions relating to cleaning products (including for pets). We will not be responsible for any issues arising where this information has not been provided in advance.

10.Damage and Liability
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill. If any damage is believed to have been caused during a visit, this must be reported to us within 24 hours so that it can be investigated.

We will not be responsible for:
  - Pre-existing damage or wear and tear
  - Items that are not securely fixed or are inherently fragile
  - Damage arising from risks that were not disclosed to us in advance

Nothing in this section affects your legal rights or our responsibility to carry out services with reasonable care and skill.


11.Non-Solicitation
Our team members are carefully selected, trained, and supported. You agree not to directly employ or engage any employee, contractor, or cleaner introduced to you by Talk Clean To Me, either during the provision of our services or for a period of 6 months after services end, without our prior written consent. If this occurs, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable introduction fee reflecting the costs incurred in recruiting, training, and supplying that team member.

12.Satisfaction Guarantee
We want you to be happy with our service. If something isn’t quite right, please let us know within 24 hours of your visit and we will do our best to put it right promptly.

13.Cooling-Off Period
If you book our services without meeting us in person, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of booking. By confirming your booking, you expressly request that we begin providing services within this 14-day period where applicable. If you cancel within this period, you will still be required to pay for any services carried out up to the point of cancellation.

14.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The latest version will always be provided with your quotation and made available on our website.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
